Chuanjin Sun's Award-Winning Design Offers a Retreat from Urban Hustle

Chuanjin Sun's inspiration for the Zhimu Spa came from the elements of stone, woods, sky, and green plants, all of which retain their original colors and grains. This inspiration has resulted in a Shangri-La in the heart of the city, a place where people can retreat from the urban hustle and find their own peace and tranquility.

The Zhimu Spa's unique properties lie in its modern and natural interpretation. The vivid green pine bonsai, illuminated by lights from the bottom, cast impressive shadows on the top. The designer has cleverly broken the boundary between the corridor and the limited space, making each step a scene. The shimmering lights along the circulation and the large use of white with beams create a peaceful and cozy atmosphere.

The main materials used in the project are stones, woods, and other elements from nature. The focus is on the customers' feeling when they immerse themselves in this atmosphere, encouraging further consumption motivated by emotions. The building area for the Zhimu Spa is a spacious 1100 square meters.

The design process involved studying the grains and colors from nature and incorporating them into the interior design. Lighting plays a crucial role in creating a cozy, forest-like space. The main tone of the space is low saturation, which is down to earth. However, the designer has used lights and green plants effectively to bring vitality to the space.

The Zhimu Spa project started in August 2017 and was completed in October of the same year. The spa opened its doors in April 2018 in Changzhou. The project was not without its challenges. The main challenge was to make the space more vivid while maintaining a low saturation tone. This was achieved by effectively using lights and green plants to bring vitality to the space.

The Zhimu Spa was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2019. This prestigious award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
